According to Axelent Sales Director, Drew Hoxey, heading up to Brisbane, Queensland for the day was an opportunity to be able to represent Axelent at such an important industry event.

“The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP), in conjunction with the Supply Chain & Logistics Association (SCLAA), have been running the national Christmas Foodbank Hamper Program for eight years now and in that time the industry has packed 8000 hampers to the value of $900,000 for those in need during the holiday season,” Mr Hoxey said.

“I heard about the program a few years ago and last year I came up and volunteered my time to help pack the hampers and what a fantastic day it was. This year I brought my son with me as I truly believe that it is important to teach the next generation that not everyone is as lucky as we are, and it is our corporate responsibility to help other people whenever we can. My son helped pack 12 hampers and I was extremely proud in the knowledge that we have helped make a difference to a few people over Christmas,”

“I would love to see more companies help grow the program in 2019; either during the year asking staff to collect items for the hampers, as a volunteer on the day, or just fundraising for much-needed items for the hampers. The AIP Foodbank Hamper Program is an industry-based activity and it would be great to see everyone contribute.” he said.
