What does safety mean to you?

The safety culture here at Axelent Australia is one we are so proud of. We share knowledge and support within the team, however also extend this to our customer and enquiry database. As you enter conversation with Axelent Australia, your safety journey becomes an important part of what we do, and ultimately why we are so passionate about our work. We asked the team what safety means to them, and this is how they answered…

"Safety for me starts every morning we get up, being aware of hazards that surround us, sometimes it’s taken out of our own hands which is unfortunate but if I can control what I do then that’s good enough for me. When I am at work it is about having peace of mind that we are trying to make a difference to workers and workforces having the best safety they possibly can. Education is key, employers need to be proactive and not reactive because it's too late when one of their employees doesn’t return home to their family or they lose a limb. – Gary Marshall, Internal Sales Executive SA, WA, QLD

"Safety means feeling a sense of protection. From the everyday subconscious things including putting on a seatbelt in the car, to having the necessary safety measures in place at work to feel you can do your job without risk. Feeling safe is every human right, and the entire Axelent team is passionate about making this possible in every workplace." – Imogen Baker, Digital Marketing Specialist

"Safety means creating an environment where everyone can confidently perform tasks knowing they are protected. Using proactive measures and smart solutions to keep business profitable and people out of harms way." – Rob Quinn, Business Development Manager NSW

"Safety to me means everyone coming home from work. Being responsible for yourself and others. Being proactive and making sure that you move forwards. Putting safety first. Proper training and being open to listening about what is needed to get thing done properly. – Drew Hoxey, Managing Director AUS & NZ

"Safety to me means ensuring that every person can work in an environment where the risks are understood and managed effectively. Safety is about creating a space where we can all focus on our tasks without the worry of something going wrong. Safety isn't just about following rules, it's about being proactive, looking out for eachother and supporting a culture where every team member feel responsible for the well-being of their colleagues." –Simon Dean, Internal Support Manager

"To me, safety means guaranteeing that every person goes home to their loved ones safely at the end of the workday." – Abbie Haouchar, Business Development Manager VIC

Common points from the team at Axelent Australia share the importance of being PROactive, instead of REactive as when it is too late, it's too late.

Safety starts with you.
